Frequently Asked Questions

What types of makeup do you use?

I love all types of makeup. I always tease that I never discriminate against makeup. Currently I’m in LOVE with Danessa Myrick, Peaches N’ Cream pigments, and Ben Nye. I make sure that everything I use is hypoallergenic, cruelty free and sensitive skin tested.

How much do you charge?

When you contact me I will ask to hear more about your event, your vision, the venue, the bridal party, etc. Kiss and Makeup offers group and package discounts. Bridal Packages start at $250, individual pricing starts at $100. I believe every bride, every girl going to her first prom, every Mom having a family picture made should look amazing and that’s why it’s important to me to keep my prices affordable!

What’s the difference between airbrush and traditional makeup?

The number one complaint I heard from women about having their makeup professionally done was “It was TOO CAKEY! I felt like I had a mask on!” Airbrush makeup is the solution to this problem. With buildable coverage (makeup artist term for you can use a little or a lot) the airbrush gives you full coverage while looking and feeling like your own skin. I compare it to more thin coats is better than one thick coating. The other benefit of this application technique is the staying power. With minimum touch-up your coverage will remain flawless.

Airbrush Makeup is better because it provides a lightweight answer to flawless skin, loves all skin types, is sweat resistant, hug proof and long-lasting.

Will the Airbrush cover my/my bridesmaid’s tattoo?

Yes. No. Maybe. It will really depend on the size and coloration of the tattoo. But feel free to ask and I will be honest with you. Just remember you chose your bridesmaid because she is special to you, tattoos and all.

What time should we begin?

I suggest giving each person 1 hour for hair and makeup and 30 minutes for just hair or makeup. Please remember to factor in the complexity of the style, the makeup look and length of hair, personality of the client, etc. I love to see pictures of the ideas you have and even the ideas of the bridal party. If we are on time constraints having an idea of what you would like can keep the day running smoothly. If you need suggestions please let me know, we can always have a consultation beforehand. I will also need 15-30 minutes of set up time as well as time factored in if we are changing locations and for clean-up.

Do you offer a trial run or consultation?

YES! It is a great opportunity for me to get to know you and your style. Most of my brides choose to do their trial run on the same day as engagement portraits, bridal portraits or on the day of their wedding shower or bachelorette party. Might as well look gorgeous for these events too!

Is a deposit required?

Yes. All bridal packages require a 25% deposit on the total of your invoice to hold your date. The deposit will be deducted from the invoice.

What about cancellations?

Any cancellations made 4 weeks or less to the date of the event will be subject to losing the total deposit made to Kiss and Makeup. You may reschedule without penalty subject to artist availability. Furthermore, any cancellation made by a bridal party member on the date of the event will result in a $50 cancellation fee. All cancellations on the day of the event will be the responsibility of the client.

What types of payments do you accept?

We accept cash, check, PayPal or any major credit card.

Will you stay for touch-ups?

Yes. Additional time may be added to your invoice at the rate of $95 per hour.

Do you charge additional fees for travel?

I will travel up to 25 miles at no additional fee. Events outside my travel area will incur an hourly rate charge.

Do you have any references?

Of course! I’ll be happy to have any of my past clients email you or you can read my reviews here.

How would you describe your style as a makeup artist?

Because I come from such a diverse background of makeup training, my style ranges from dramatic to simple and elegant. I understand that most women are not into over-the-top styles and just want to look like the best version of themselves. No woman wants to look into the mirror and think I don’t even look like myself anymore! And I completely agree.

Do you have experience with my ethnicity?

Yes, of course! I have experience in all types of ethnicity, skin colors, skin types and even problematic skin.

I need… my daughter needs… my friends and I need makeup lessons. Can you do that?

Yes! Contact me and let’s get something set up!
